Trekking San Isidro Lighthouse from Punta Arenas

Tour information

The southernmost lighthouse in the American continent

Itinerary

The pick-up time starts from your accommodation (Urban Area), between 8:00 and 8:30 am. We will head south on Route 9, approximately 70 km, until the end of the route at Punta del Arbol.

When we arrive to Punta Arbol, we will walk approximately 5.5 km to San Isidro Lighthouse. The trail goes by pebble beach.

The round trip hike will take about 4 hours. During this trek, we will identify the typical flora and fauna of the area.

The route may vary depending on weather conditions, tides, rainfall, or increased water flow from small streams crossing the trail. When necessary, the guide will assess the safest available alternative, such as looking for a narrower crossing point through the forest or adapting the passage according to the actual trail conditions, always prioritizing passenger safety.

Finally, we arrive at San Isidro Lighthouse, where we have a panoramic view of the Strait of Magellan, Dawson Island, the Darwin Cordillera, and the Brunswick Peninsula in their full splendor if cloud conditions allow.

When we are there, we will have approximately 30 to 40 minutes to have lunch, hydrate, and enjoy the surroundings, and then we will return via the same route. (2 hours).

The drop off time in Punta Arenas will be around 16:00.
