The Winter Camp Patagonia 2025 will take place in the Magallanes National Reserve, Punta Arenas. On the first day, participants will receive a welcome, learn how to set up a snow camp, attend a workshop on clothing and equipment with emphasis on the prevention of hypothermia and frostbite, and finish the day with a winter hike using snowshoes. The second day will be dedicated to a ski touring workshop and avalanche rescue practice with the use of ARVA, shovel, and probe, concluding with the closing and dismantling of the camp.

09:30 AM approx. – Start of the hike towards Base Camp.
MODULE I: Manage and prepare your winter excursion (Camp Dome)
Winter camping techniques.
Clothing and equipment for winter trekking.
Leave No Trace principles.
MODULE II: Ski Touring talk and avalanche hazards (Camp Area)
Introduction to DVA/ARVA, shovel, and probe.
Introductory talk on Ski Touring.
MODULE III: Prevention and treatment of hypothermia and frostbite (Camp Dome)
Physiological effects of cold, hypothermia, and frostbite.
